One big reason that we used John was his emphasis on ‘white-hat’ tactics. Sometimes, SEO ‘professionals’ will suggest using ‘black-hat’ or ‘gray-hat’ methods – things to trick the search engines into ranking your site more favorably. John was firm in his counsel to NOT employ those methods, but to make your site more attractive to search engines by making it more useful to actual humans.
In one specific case, by using some of John’s simple recommendations, we saw a 50% jump in traffic within a few months!
