Mobile First – No really!

Working on several projects recently I am finding that mobile is still being treated as an afterthought. Guys, you can’t do this. I know you think your site is fine, it’s a responsive “mobile friendly” design and it passed Google’s Speed Test with flying colors, but desktop design is still taking the lead in appearance and design.

What I am seeing routinely on mobile sites are menus that are missing pages or don’t work at all, text that isn’t properly scaling and overwhelming the display, white space that is interrupting page flow and pop-ups that make it impossible to navigate. This has to stop! Mobile use has eclipsed desktop use.

When designing testing and using your website YOU MUST DO IT FROM A PHONE!  If that works, then worry about the desktop version.
